What began in 2011 as a school and community farm project has blossomed into a nonprofit that has served over 34,000 students and thousands of adult in the Austin area. Our dedicated Outdoor and Edible Education Specialists lead hands-on, engaging lessons in school gardens, outdoor classrooms, and pop-up kitchens to bring academic and social-emotional learning to life.
We know that by providing schools extra, in-person, support and taking learning outside and in kitchens, kids get an enriched learning experience. The impact of PEAS extends beyond the school day, strengthening neighborhoods, supporting families, connecting community partners, and creating opportunities for Austinites of all ages to learn from the land and from one another.
